This is the second one we bought. We had a different brand for our older dog that would die after 1 day so we replaced hers with this one which we had for our younger dog. We are lucky we never have to zap them but we can send the sound alert & they both instantly do what we were instructed.

Great other than battery life
I have had this for almost a year now. I got it when my pup was 6 months old after some formal training in which the trainer used one. The Good: The various settings work consistently and from a good distance (though I have not tested to see if it works at the full 1000 meters). My 1.5 year old lab hates to be on leash but responds well to a vibration when she starts venturing too far from me on a trail or the beach. I use the shock only when she goes charging full force towards another dog or dog walker and it will immediately get her attention and she will return to me without a yelp. It is waterproof. Rain, fresh water submerged, and salt water. The Bad: The controller is a bit bulky (the collar is fine on my 65lb pound dog). I have had it give random beeps on occasion. I could not find a reason but if I reset it to a different channel, it would stop. Battery life is on the short side. I only use mine for when I take her out now, so I mostly leave it on the charger between. The controller only needs to be charged every couple of weeks but the collar needs a charge every 2 days. My dog rarely barks so haven't used that feature.
